Information on the Workshop

Date & Time: July 20-24, 2009; 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Location: San Antonio College, Nursing and Allied Health Complex Room 218A (NAHC 218A) Campus Map: http://www.alamo.edu/sac/sacmain/Map/html/new_sacmap.htm

Parking: Participants must have a Visitor’s Parking Permit. Visitor’s Parking Permits can be picked up at the Campus Police office on the corner of Main and Park. It is suggested that the first day, you arrive 10 minutes early and pick up your permit.

Lunch: Lunch will be provided for participants of the workshop.

Materials/Supplies: You will need writing materials. Also, please bring a flash/travel drive to save any work you do electronically. We will be working some in a computer lab on our individual projects, and you’ll want to save that work each day.

Resource Materials: You will receive a copy of What is “College-Level” Writing?, edited by Patrick Sullivan and Howard Tinberg. You will also receive a notebook with other readings and information.

Cost of workshop: This workshop is free for teachers thanks to the generous support of Educational Service Center, Region 20, UTSA and its College and Workplace Readiness Initiative grant funds, and San Antonio College. Special thanks goes to Debbie Hewitt at Region 20, Dr. Lawrence Williams at UTSA, and Mr. Alex Bernal (Chair of the SAC English Department) and Dr. Robert Zeigler (President of SAC).
